An Important Message for all Danny The Dog Fans.

It is with a heavy heart that I share this post. Our favorite canine and beloved friend of the blogosphere, Danny the Dog, crossed the rainbow bridge last Tuesday. Our thoughts and prayers are with his human, Andrew. If Danny were here, I think he might say that he himself needs no prayers ~ just a few more turkey slices 🙂 Journey well, sweet Danny. You will be sorely missed ❤

My heart is with you, Andrew. Danny reached so many hearts, because you gave him a voice with which to reach them ❤

In case you were wondering why Danny The Dog wasn’t making his usual visit to respond to all your comments under his post yesterday, I regret to tell you that it was his last posting.

Danny died last Tuesday (18th July 2017)

His human, Andrew Joyce sent me the following eulogy:

My name is Andrew.

Until recently, I had the distinct honor of cohabitating with a true wit and an all-around good guy, Danny the Dog.

But now that the summer’s gone and all the flowers are dying—when all the sunshine was in shadow—he had to leave me. Oh, Danny Boy, I love you so. Sleep in peace until I come to you.

Now that I’ve plagiarized the song Danny Boy, I’ll have a go at Shakespeare.

Friends, bloggers, lovers of Danny, lend me your ears.
I come to praise Danny, not to bury him.
The bad stuff dogs do…

Oh, the goosebumps … and the tears ~ of joy. Sally Cronin‘s post on feeding our fur families is exquisite. She includes multiple tips and links, as well as some delicious-sounding homemade recipes. The clincher, however, is the video. Thirty homeless fur balls are given a holiday feast, and several are adopted; the perfect critter holiday video   ️

Cripes! How many rotten things can one good dog tolerate? Danny the Dog is over at Chris’ place on The Story Reading Ape filling us in on Andrew’s supercilious shenanigans. Oh, and the telling is so comprehensive that his Christmas message has to be insinuated. But hey, when your dander is up and you’re given a platform to vent . . . 🙂

Danny’s Annual Christmas Message

Well, it’s that time of year where I have to set the world right with my message of peace and love. It’s a big responsibility, but it’s the least that I can do for my fellow canines and their humans.

I reckon I should first introduce myself to those of you who have been off planet for the last few years. I am Danny the Dog, dog extraordinaire. Humans wait with bated breath for my monthly epistles to appear in print. Scientists consult me for the cure of various diseases. And Andrew, my human, needs me to turn on his computer every morning. You would think by now he would have mastered the complicated process of pressing a particular button, but you’d be wrong.

Hello dear fans and friends. Zoe here. As you may or may not know, last month I went on a little trip. Since I didn’t have time to write a story before I left, I asked my friend, Burt, to entertain you in my place, but, as promised, I am back!

Howdy, folks. It’s me, Danny the Dog. I live on a boat with my human, Andrew. Today, I’m here to speak about outrageous fortune. And the outrageous fortune of which I speak is the insidious leash he makes me wear. I mean . . . really . . . just because I’ve run away a few times, he thinks I can’t be trusted. Danny’s Latest Adventures

Danny XXlI just got in from walking my human; his name is Andrew. I, of course, am Danny the Dog, purveyor of wit and words, not to mention wisdom.

Many a time I’ve kept you engrossed with my wondrous tales of taking Andrew for his morning constitutional to the park; however, I’ve been remiss in not regaling you with narratives of our stop by the Tiki hut every morning. In a moment, The Adventure at the Tiki Hut, but first the Tiki hut itself.

A Tiki hut, for those of you who are from another planet, is a structure consisting of four open walls and a pitched roof covered with palm fronds. The Tiki hut at our marina sports a refrigerator, a microwave oven, and three grills—two gas, and one regular. The humans used to congregate there in the evenings and do what humans do, mostly talk.
